  • Interesting/Thinking/Trippy movies to watch?

My holiday break is coming up, and I'm going to be spending a lot of time at home. I came up with a short list of movies I already know I want to see, and I was hoping you all could recommend some movies to add to the list:

    Requiem for a Dream
    Waking Life
    Donnie Darko
    A Scanner Darkly
    Garden State
    The Pianist
    The Mist
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
    Studio

A really good Japanese film a recently saw is Spirited Away. It's an anime film, don't be put off. I don't like this kind of thing but I assure you it's such a lovely film.

Adaptation and any other Charlie Kaufman film is usually pretty interesting (as I see you listed Eternal Sunshine). Harold & Maude is a classic. Pink Floyd's The Wall is pretty trippy. If you know anything about Bob Dylan, the film I'm Not There is magnificent. And if you feel like a little existential comedy, go for I Heart Huckabees. Just a few suggestions.

Edit: And Jim Jarmusch makes some pretty ace films too.

Lost and Loathing in Las Vegas.
          Motorboating.
The placement of one's face, specifically the mouth, into the area between a well-endowed woman's breasts, followed by a rapid shaking of the face in a side-to-side motion accompanied by yelling. The resulting sound that is created sounds similar to an outboard boat motor.

Rec, spanish horror movie. It's also coming (might already have come) as a an american version, but I'd recommend the spanish one.

horror movie, but it's interesting/thinking/trippy, but not a very fantastic movie, but it's definitely watchable, and semi-enjoyable. haha

I'm not sure. Although it's a really good film I think they sold off the 'fantasy' thing real heavy in the trailer, then when I actually watched the film the whole thing was based around the Spanish Revolution with about 1/8 being related to any sort of weird fantasy stuff. So a bit miss leading and not really weird or trippy as much as one would be led to believe.

DEFINITELY A Scanner Darkly; one of the most prolific, funny, deep, and insane movies I've ever seen.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

                            The Number 23

Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels (amazing movie; you can watch alot of these movies on www.hulu.com - totally legal site)
