Guys if you want a movie that is thought provoking/borderline disturbing then "Happiness" by David Linde is probably the most effed up film I've ever seen.
Not sure if I would recommend watching it "under the influence" or not, but either way watch at your own risk. Here's a link to the description, but it really doesn't do it any justice.

p.s. anybody else ever seen this movie?

My list would be.
Eraserhead
Blue Velvet
Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind
Eyes Wide Shut
Love and Death (Woody Allen, Hilarious)
The old animated Lord of the rings, awesome animation
Also an animated flick called "Lightyears" it's written by Isaac Asimov, and has cool animation and an awesome plot line about time travel and other such bizarre things.

Control (the movie about Joy Division) was great, I thought.
I had expected it to be a visually great movie, but it turned out the story was pretty interesting and well executed as well.

I just saw "the Game".
More of a thriller but it was pretty creepy/had to think to figure it out.
