Im making the decision whether or not to buy a tama starclassic performer kit, or a masters kit. I wanna know now what kind of kit to buy so i can start saving up money. I love the sleekness of tama drums. But im also in love with pearl because they are more afordable and its what ive been playing. Basically if you have masters kit or a tama starclassic kit can you show me pictures of them. I dont wanna see kits with flat colors, i want a fade of some sort, or a color that will show the grain. Plus im really interested in black hardware. thanks guys. Give me your opinion, or show me a pic anything will help me.

Go with Masters, I love mine. Pearl has great service and prices. Can't go wrong!!! Here is my kit, it's wine red: http://66.40.220.17/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9222

I bought Masters MRX and am very happy with them! Tama makes fine drums as well, but the customer service I've seen and experienced with Pearl has me thinking I made the right choice.
Check the threads in the First Aid section for a few examples. I have yet to not see Pearl make things right for a customer.

if u want black hardware, youll have to go with pearl becuz the only other option tama offers is gold plated. and i believe thats only on the starclassic maple.

I have a Masters MMX kit, the lacquer isn't grain showing, but it does have the black hardware. Take a [email protected]@K. Its a great sounding maple kit, phat, warm full and resonate. Good luck with what ever you decide on.

I use a Pearl Masters Custom in maple shells, nice!, but i have to go with Tama on this one, Pearl is good but Tama can take a heavier hitting, and are deeper than pearl, i think that pearl is a good Jazz or funk kit, but Tama is the god for Rock and other hard hitting demanding drums than pearl. plus the starcast mounting system can get your toms REALLY close, i mean REEEAAAALLLLYYYY close togather so no need to move around as much. plus there harddware i think is better than pearls. -RoT

hey deadjotun the brx's are awesome.. i really love the birch sounds.. it would sound much better after i change the heads though. the kit cost me $NZ3200 for the shells, chad smith snare, 2 stands a high hat stand and double kicks which is about US$1,762.41 they were second hand by the way. go try some out at your local music shop.. you won't regret it :)
