These are Session Customs (Fusion size) in Marine Blue Fade with a Chad Smith signature snare. I've changed the set up recently, adding a double tom stand to the left of the kick, and a Gibralter cymbal arm w/clamp. And I'm gonna take better pictures of it this weekend for my homepage.

LMAO I just noticed the picture had that. Yes, I removed all of it last week.

I must admit...For the longest time, I was a Tama freak (Lars Ulrich, Stewart Copeland, Kenny Aronoff). And back in '88, a friend of mine showed me his rather large Piano Black Export kit w/rack system. He gushed about it like he was a new dad. Now I know why.

Pearl has acquired yet another lifetime member/user. And I'll never go back. :)

NICE KIT!!! how does the chad smith sound?? does it crack? does it ring?? what if you put muffling on it, will it still crack? im planning on getting one but deciding whether the Copeland Sig snare or the Chad Smith..

The snare sounds great. Now, granted, it doesn't sound EXACTLY the way Chad's does (actually, I don't think he uses that snare), but because it's nickel plated steel, it does have ring to it, so I do use a Rem-O. But for funk and soul, I let it ring out.

Confirmed: Chad doesn't use this snare. He created it to be a relative likeness, but at a better price.
