How did i know i would be the first one in here??:D

I have a 7x12, 30 ply ported maple i use as my primary. It has great crack and excellent tone, no ring at all and very fast decay. It is EXTREMELY loud which is perfect for most of the situations i play in. Rimshots in particular are great. It is also alot more sensitive then most other snares, You can pick up ghost notes alot easier also. You can control the volume by how hard you hit it (Duh) but you need to get used to just how hard since it does not respond like a regular snare volume wise.

how is it vented and how much was it in American

It has three 2-1/4 vents. You can get the same snare without powdercoating for about $600.00 US. even less if you get a 10 or 20 ply vs. a 30 ply.

whats powdercoating???

If you dont like chrome hoops and lugs, they can change the color to just about anything you can think of. Gloss, Flat, Sparkle, Glow in the Dark, Pearls, Spatter, whatever you want.
The process is known as "Powdercoating". Its alot more durable then paint.

Powdercoating runs about $80.00 per drum. That includes the lugs and hoops.

Slip, they don't really make the drum more sensitive in a sense. It is more the fact that it becomes louder so you are hearing the sensitivity moreso than you would with a quiter snare.

Correct, since the volume is increased with a vented snare, you will here sounds you would'nt normally hear on a conventional snare when playing at the same level. So technically, its not more sensitive, but to your ear, it is since you can hear a much wider range.

Yup. I said that on another post and I got attacked by people who disagreed with me. Since you know the most about OCDP here I will take it in pride that you agree!

Does OCDP mail and take orders from Canada or would I have to go to Cali to get it?

Hi KCDrummer2003 - I have two Pearl Master Custom kits, but I also use a OCDP 7X14 vented snare in a special type IV custom
purple lacquer w/all black die-cast hardware as one of my main
snares along with a Ronn Dunnett 8x14 Classic Titanium.

The best place for you to order from is Just Drums in Toronto. They sell OCDP at US list price, except for CND dollars.

Ex - 20x20 kick being $1294 (Type 1 finish) US list, will only cost you $1294 CND plus tax.

Plus, they are closer than Steves to you as well (although I should add that there is a Steves in Toronto and Ottawa as well, although I find their service horrible).

:D

Oh yes, very, VERY much so. Although, ordering through OCDP temselves, you'd get 25% off, so that would bring the US down to roughly $975 US, but then the exchange rate is close to 55% I believe, at the moment, jacking the price way up again....

In short, yes.

So, $1 USD=$2CND or vice versa?

WTF!? You've got to be kidding me! If I was to order a OCDP set, I'd call up a canadian dealer and do it through them. Right!? What would make me not want to do that?

Mr Possibility - I hope you don't sit real close to that studded
OCDP snare when you play, it might change your vocal range or even worse, your sex life! :D

I do not have that snare, kinda wish I did though, if by the off-chance that do get it, I will try and be careful. :D

Just wear a cup and pray your hardware is sturdy. You may want to look into a titanium snare stand.

Ha, I never thought that that snare would make such a splash, I think I found that pic somewhere in these forums. But it is cool nonetheless, if I only had the money....
