Anyone know the true difference between a decade maple and the old MRX masters custom extras?
I know the plys are thinner, but is it a different type of maple?

I think it's been said that the Decade Maple is an Asian maple. Now are MRX shells American hard maple? I don't know.
Again I'm just saying I THINK I RECALL. I could be wrong or the memory could of been from someone who didn't know either.
I'm no help at all, but I tried!

The difference between the two is simple .. Asian maple is less dense, has a lower janka scale, grows faster in warm climate of Asia and is cheaper
Oh .. and Masters has 8 lug floor toms unlike 6 on Decade .. haha

They do sound great. That wrap is awesome. That's the first time I've seen it under lights like that. I could easily live with that on my kit.
I'd drop sticks into that hi hat top so often if I ever tried something like that. That's nuts!
