To meet increased demand for Decade Maple series drums, Pearl announces three all new finish options, available in two all Maple shell packs.

Each new Decade Maple kit showcases high-density Galaxy Flake sparkle finishes for a dazzling dual-dimensional visual effect. Options include Ocean Galaxy Flake (#712) Crimson Galaxy Flake (#713) and Slate Galaxy Flake (#714) wraps made exclusively for Pearl by Delmar USA.

Introduced at NAMM 2016 in celebration of Pearl’s 70th Anniversary, Decade Maple drums’ remarkable quality is the final product of ten years of process and material refinement. Decade’s cross-laminated 6-ply SST all Maple shell projects with authority, reacting quickly to the stroke with beautifully resonant highs and thundering lows.

“Delmar USA is the leading supplier of wrapped finishes to the boutique drum market,” states Terry West, Pearl Corporation CEO. “Custom touches like this truly set Decade Maple drums apart from other kits in their price-range. We are proud to be able to offer these 5-pc. shell packs at the same $699 Street Price as the original lacquer version, as well as back them up with our Industry-leading Lifetime Warranty.”

The Decade Difference means low-mass/low-contact shell hardware, optimum shell performance, and rock-solid durability. The kit you’ve prepared yourself for is here, and with two additional shell packs starting at a staggering low street price, it’s finally within reach.

DMP925SP/C (2218B/1007T/1208T/1616F/1455S) MSRP: $1,159, Street Price: $699
DMP905P/C (2016B/1007T/1208T/1414F/1455S) MSRP: $1,159, Street Price: $699

Love these, great job Pearl. It would be great if one these, an SSC, wood fiberglass, and MCC kit could make their way up to Dale's for our PDF meet and greet on the 16th :D

I would love to hear a comparison of sounds or read what my trusted friends write. The Galaxy Wraps by Delmar are so HOT and on an intermediate kit; perfect to travel! Delmar has the winning wraps hands down!

22" or even maybe a 20" bass drum would be easier to haul and big enough for the Big Boom Theory! But variety is the spice of life! (quote by ?)

Are these two wraps just and addition to the color choice or are they replacing any of the original lacquer colors?

Have there been any of the original finishes discontinued yet? Specifically #228 Yellow? I went to order a set the other day and was told that they wer not available until March 2017. Is that just when Pearl will make another run of the #228 color finish or are they really discontinuing the color? I need to know so that I can place my order with confidence that I will receive it and not find out months from now that the color has been discontinued.

As of now color #228 Solid Yellow is still available as a finish in the Decade series.

Well it's probably scholar or writer but I would have thought it was WC Fields.
