Ha, so I have been told. Its kinda a backward Neil Peart set, or possibly Vinny Appice

Beautiful Kit and I really like that finish. It is such a classic finish. Have you experimented with other heads? Like Clear Emps? I might check out suedes for my MCX.

Your Dunnett snare doesn't match with the rest of your (beautiful) gear. Send it to me.

Beautiful kit, I love that finish. Neil Peart instantly came to mind upon seeing that first pic. I think that's first pic I've seen of a pure with that finish.

Oh, I love that finish! Looks like you have the same configuration that I use (8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 22), except yours is metric, or backwards, or something:p Long wait for them? I’ve been thinking about trading my References for some Reference Pures. I can’t decide if I want to go classy (Vintage Tobacco) or flashy (Scarlet Sparkle). Anyway, congratulations on the beautiful kit. Enjoy!

Thank you. All good now. I did re arrange it. It seems to work better ergodynamically. I like having the ride in the low position.

I have thought about getting a rack. I had a rack on my old set, but I kind a like having stands again. Its kind of a retro thing. The pures have more of a retro sound as well, with the thinner shells. Very nice. I am really enjoying the drums.

I just added a few new cymbals to my set. I was able to find an older 8 inch paiste mini china. I put that on top of one of my 10 inch rude splashes, now i have a max stax..lol I also found a real heavy 8 inch paiste bell prototype. Very sweet. Presently looking for a 10 to 12 inch popcorn snare as a auxillary. Thinking of having Dunnett make me a Bubinga version of that.

Ha ha, you wish. I love that snare. Fantastic investment. By far the best sounding metal snare I have ever played. It is now my main snare, after years of using a wood snare as the main go to snare. I use the Longo for studio stuff.

Thanks, I really like it. Its very retro looking. It took about 5 months to get it. Was worth the wait. I almost went with a sparkle fade finish, but I really think the clear laquer brings out the natual grain in the wood.

Thanks! Took about 6 months from time I ordred them..Worth it totally. I opted for classy. They look great under lights. You cant go wrong with any pearls. The references are alittle thicker, but that is about it. Sound is pretty similar. The pures resonate alittle better, but the references are alittle louder.

Love the kit. Really love both the snares !!!

Thanks...Both snares are fantastic in different ways. The longo has a low end growl to it. very deep, dry. Love it. The Dunnett speaks for it self.

hey, Brian... So you live in Plano? I live on the other side of Dallas from you, in Midlothian. I got my Pure set about a week and a half ago and it is still a work in progress. It came with a rack and my first thought was that I was going to not use it and sell it off. Since this set is not going to be moved, I decided to try it. I guess I just got racked... It's going to stay. I am selling the snare basket and just use my T2000 stand. You have a beautiful set. I too, am a lefty but I play right handed... I grew up in a time when you just did not have a choice. There is probably not that many of these in the DFW area, so it is good to communicate with like minded people.

Thank you, JckCustom... I still have a bit to learn about the RefPures, heads, what snare, etc. And, I've found that it is a lot more set to get around. I've been working on it pretty much all day, every day. Brian has a killer set, as well and he lives in my neck of the woods. Go figure. thanks, again Jck
