Sorry for my not so great pictures. Was using my camera phone. Also, my kit is in my bedroom, so it is hard to get real good shots of the kit. I am still waiting on some major components for the kit, so I am alittle hesitant to post anything else until I can move it where there is more space and take some better pictures. I am waiting on a 14 inch floor tom, and a set of rocket toms, as well. I was thinking about ordering a 6 inch tom, but it would have had to be a masterworks tom with reference pure specs. Plus, putting a optimount on a 6 inch tom makes it somewhat harder to tune. I think the rocket toms will more than make up for the 6 inch tom.

I recently starting playing again after a few years of not playing. I had always played Pearl, so it was pretty much a no brainer to start up again with Pearl. I tried out a few other brands and just kinda came back to Pearl after realizing they just sounded the best to me. I love the reference pures because they have that great Pearl sound, plus the thinner shells give it that more vintage fuller resonant sound. I might get a second set at some point, possibly a John Bonham type set. Probably gonna go the Masterworks route with those. Would love to have a all Mahogany Masterworks Bonham set with a Tamo Ash exterior. I am a recently converted Paiste user, and I love the way they sound. I currently am using a 7x14 Longo solid walnut snare and it kicks major ***. What a fantastic snare! Very tunable in all variations. I just ordered a Dunnett Stainless Steel 7x14 snare with black powder coated hardware, cant wait to use that. I think that is all im gonna need snare wise for now. I might get a Pearl Sensitone elite snare, but not sure yet. Using all pearl hardware, B1000 stands, the eliminator hi hat stand, snare stand, and i have a RH1000 remote hi hat stand waiting for my special order Paiste 10" rude hi hats when they arrive. Also using the Demon drive double pedal, and man is that a great pedal.

your kit is awesome Brian. I noticed a gator logo in one of the pics. Not sure if it's a drum case or not that I see. If it is, DO NOT USE GATOR CASES for those drums. Gator cases have ruined numerous drumkits on the forum. I think it had to do with a chemical or adhesive they used in their cases. It causes massive corrossion on the hardware.

alright just keeping you in the loop : ) have a great Thanksgiving!

I have used gator cases for years and never had that problem

Jutts right on this one. Gator even conceded and admitted their cases were causing the problem.

Ok all I'm saying I have used them for 15 years and never had that problem

Not sure if it was a specific time frame they manufactured the "problem"cases. But if youve had the same cases for that long your probably ok.

Been using them for years never had a problem. Got brand new ones now. No issues

Yeah, I think gator managed to resolve the problem, fortunately, and it was only on one specific line of their cases.

Seems as though my head always starts to hurt when I come upon a left handed set up. I'm literally confused for almost 5 seconds. Regardless, beautiful kit! And Howdy to a fellow Texan!

Ha I get that alot. I can play open without crossing for the high hat as well just prefer this way, thanks for the complement. Still waiting on the 14 floor tom from pearl should have it in Jan. Also have a dunnett 7x14 stainless steel snare on order as well as a longo 7.5x14 solid bubinga snare
