I always see questions for drumheads like "which evans head is like a remo emperor "

So I thought we would comprise a master list

yea, but you have to consider Aquarian heads and not just put whatever
they are one of the most respectable drumhead companys out there. they are no nonsense just straight to point high quality drumheads.

and here us your comparisons http://www.aquariandrumheads.com/products/drumhead-guide-comparison

Maybe he but 'whatever' since he may not be as familiar with their lineup. I agree though, they make some fantastic drum heads. I had used Aquarian myself for over 8 years until I started using Evans.

I think that list could be tidied up since some Remo and Evan offerings aren't there, but maybe I'll make it later. The main area's that are grey are the specialty heads though, since the niche is smaller, so they all approach them differently.

Sorry bro. Didn't see when I clicked to reply. Took me awhile to find it since Aquarian redid their website. You were able to link it before I could find it.

Did this for work one time back in 2007... maybe it can help:

Single-ply:
Evans- G1 Ctd / G1 Clr
Remo- Ambassador Ctd / Ambassador Clr
Aquarian-Texture Ctd / Classic Clr

Double-Ply:
Evans- G2 / EC2
Remo- Emperor / Pinstripe
Aquarian- Response 2 / Performance 2

Single-Ply w/ Dot:
Evans- Power Center Reverse Dot
Remo- Controlled Sound
Aquarian- Texture Ctd w/ Power Dot

Snare Side:
Evans- Genera Hazy 300
Remo- Hazy Ambassador
Aquarian- Classic Clear Snare

Bass Heads:
Single-Ply:
Evans- EQ4 / EMAD
Remo- Powerstroke 3 / None
Aquarian- Impact I / Super Kick I

Double-Ply:
Evans- EQ3 / EMAD2
Remo- Powerstroke 4 / Powersonic
Aquarian- Impact II / Super Kick II

Granted it's not every head model offered, but it runs a good gamut of the most popular makes! :D

Actually, the Remo Powersonic is the equivalent to a SuperKick II or an EMAD 2. The Powersonic is 2 ply. Just FYI. :)

...and the Full Force I (not the SK I or Impact I) is equivalent to the PS3 and EQ1. Also, the EQ3 is 2x 6.5 mil, which would be closer to a large Super 2 head (5mil + 7 mil), while the Impact II and SK II are 2x 7 mil, like a G2 except with the felt muffle strip.

If you're going to post this stuff, you need to be accurate. ;)

Thanks for the info. This is not necessarily a mil to mil comparison. It's more of a the first group of heads in single ply are single ply with a internal ring, and the second ones are single with some sort of foam ring. Same as the double ply.

I also stated that this was not an "every head model offered" but more of the most commonly found heads in most stores. Forgive me for not listing every head by the size of the plys. ;)

I see what you're saying, but ply/head thickness matters a lot, especially when you have say:

EMAD2 @ 17 mil
EQ2 @ 16.5
G2 @ 14
EQ3 @ 13
GMAD @ 12
Onyx, EMAD, EQ1, EQ4 @ 10 mil

...and so on.
