So I'm looking for a nice decent practice pad so I can practice my double bass at any time. I was looking at the Pearl one but all the reviews said it was very loud, which is a no no for me. I need as quiet as possible, and even that might not be enough

Looking for like under 75$ if possible. The DW one seems good but there's only 1 review on it and doesn't say anything about sound.

This one goes on your bass drum itself but I'm not sure how loud it is. http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/HQ-Percussion-SoundOff-Bass-Drum-Mute?sku=491797
It's only $34 so its defenetly under your budget too

Both Pearl and Gibraltar make excellent practice pads. The Pearl version is similar to a thick moush pad material. The Gibraltar version is rubber and has a bit more give to it.

Those ones I was looking at before, I read the pearl one was very loud. And did you mean mesh? I want one that doesn't bounce back as much as a real head so it's harder for me to practice. I tried the gibraltar one in a store and it was pretty good I just wanted to see if the pearl one was any better.

I got mine from GC, it was Sound Percussion for like 40 bucks. I use Plastic beaters from my Falcons, Cobras, and Eliminators and it's pretty quiet, I used the felt on my Demon Drives and it was quieter, but then I switched beaters to the CC Wood Beaters for the Demon Drives and it's pretty loud.

Never found the Pearl version to be loud at all. It's made of the same rubber type material a mouse pad is made of, only thicker. Not mesh.

Neither one has excessive bouce back and both are very realistic consdering what they are.

Alright well I only have 50$ (enough for the gibraltar one) and I'm thinking about ordering it from amazon. Is there any reason the Pearl one is noticebly better or something totally different that's worth the extra 25 bucks?

They are both fine. Either one should work fine for you.

I don't get it, I have 52$ in my amazon account from giftcards and the subtotal is 50. It won't let me checkout without selecting another payment option..Is it because their is tax that adds up to more than 52$? Man I was so happy :(
