So currently im playing my srx maple snare, and im not totally satisfied with it. Its ringing a lot, and im not really getting the pop i want.

I've narrowed my choices down too these 2 drums

the new spaun, which i played at GC was very satisfied, but i cant seem to find on any online store but this is a picture i found of it.

i believe its maple 14x5.5 or 14x6 and it has got 2 vents $350

my other choice is Pork Pie Little Squeler $199

im leaning towards the spaun. but which one would you pick? Also which do you think is going to be louder? I've only played the spaun i havent got a chance to try the little squeler yet.

i'd go with the spaun if you want loud

but if it rings too much, try some other heads or maybe a different style of hoops such as die-cast hoops. it's about 150$ for top and bottom diecast hoops and they can help lessen the ring that you hear.

just an idea, though!

I say before you go out and spend a lot on a new snare try playing around with heads/snares/tuning with the drum you already have. If ring is a concern get an Evans Genera Dry head, if lack of pop keeps you up at night try a nice set of puresound snares. Don't spend money on a new snare if you don't have to.
