So I got some of these.... I got an awesome deal with my kit that I couldn't pass up...
but can anyone tell me about them? I also have a fiberglass bass/low tom
its all from around the 1970's im pretty sure
anyways, any info would be great

Roto toms are pretty cool. I doubt i'd ever use them in any of the music i play, but they are fun to play around with. What brand are yours? If you got a good deal, then congrats man, im sure you'll have fun with 'em!

The Vari-Set System was introduced in 1977. The Vari-Pitch set consisted of fiberglass shells with a roto tom placement on top. You tuned by turning
the tom heads. In 1978 Pearl introduced the Vari-Pitch Cannons - invented by Randy May. I had a Vari-Pitch snare drum for awhile in 1979/81. Sounded pretty cool.

Catalogue says phenolic shells on these. They look more like acousticon than f/g.
