I use a Gibraltar Drop Clutch that has the "set-screw" to prevent the top cymbal from working itself lose and it works great (to facilitate using the drop mechanisim, it helps to have the least amount of pull rod showing as possible).

I bought it too because it was cheaper and i can honestly say theres not too much difference between those and others. The action is about the same for all of them.

i bought this awhile ago, i dont dig it to much. like i dont like the feel of it. it seems too heavy, weights the top portion of the highhat down, and i dont like opening the highhats more than i normally would just to compensate the weight of the drop clutch.

I haven't tried any brands of drop-lock clutch... My Gibraltar works fine with me...
