Does anyone know where I could buy some 14" die cast (mastercast, i guess) hoops for my sensitone II. I like my classic, but it rings some and the claws are getting really annoying.

Thanks, but I went about this incorrectly. Do you think that die-cast hoops would reduce the ring some? Or is there a better hoop to get for the Sensitone II?

I still say that excessive ringing on metal snares is easily cured with a muffle ring. Something like a RemO Ring will do the trick for you, and they're not expensive. If the RemO Ring dries the sound out too much, you can cut it down, until you get the sound you like.

Try the muffle ring--you'll be glad you did.

I have been a long time user of a zer-o-ring from Nobley and Cooley, but I find that products like that deaden the sound in proportion to how much they reduce the ring.
