I just recieved my SRX's and I am loving it. In the studion I have played Pearl BRX, Pearl MRX, D.W., and Yamaha Maple Custom Absloute, but the SRXs are just what I have been looking for - great attack + nice, warm resonance. I would take these over about any other drums out there. I am very satisfied with these drums.

From what I can tell, the SRXs have the same shells as the Masters Series. The finishing details are different.

A major factor in the sound of a drum is the shell and not the shape of the lug.

Enjoy!

BTW: What finish did you get? Post some pix!

Iv got my SRX's on order right now...the ones i have gotten so far have had alot of finish flaws on them....marine fade blue is the color......The drums are going back to pearl in the morning....Just curious if i just got a bad line or if flaws are normal.....I want my drums!!! Could have gotten a bad batch? Sorry to hear that..Hopfully your dealer is taking care of that for ya..Never had any flaws with mine but it did take 2 1/2 months for them to come in..Just be patient..I know-easier said than done- but worth the wait:)

My Dealer is being very helpful with me and for me. He calls every other day while im sitting in the store with him. I wouldnt be so pissed about ....but.....i got 5 of the drums i ordered 3 weeks ago....they all had flaws in them...we told pearl...and made arrangments to ship them back, and to get me drums with out finish flaws......today i got another one of the drums in...it had the same problem....I just think they should look at the drums before they send them out... Dont get me wrong....I love pearl drums....I love the Sound and the Look of other SRX drums iv seen and played... I just want this straightened out...fast!! I hate to go with another Drum company, but If i keep getting "bad" drums...then i will have to. I, like so many others, have paid alot of money ... I expect a quality product. Iv played the Export and Export select for 6 years now. I havent ever seen or had any problems with them. I will be paitient ...I want my Pearl SRX 100% maple drums!!! Good things are worth waiting for.... Sorry that iv cried and moaned on here....lol.....
:D

At least there working with you on it. I can understand how you feel especially when your getting it with flaws the second go-around. You might want to mention it with Gene or Raymond, they might be able to look into the matter a little deeper for ya. These guys are top notch and will do everything in there power to help keep us happy. Just tell them what you wrote here..Good Luck and dont give up!!!!

Yeah, seriously. I posted a problem with my Eliminator doubal pedal, about the springs and the black screws, and he PM'd me and got things straightened out. I still havent recieved them though. I might e-mail Pearl on sunday. But its true, Pearl really knows how to take care of their customers. I'm suprised they dont brag about their service more often, especially after how brainwashing their promotional video is :D

I waited a mere month for my SRX's to come from Pearl Europe.

They were (and still are) absolutely flawless in finish. One of the most beautiful drum kits I have ever had the pleasure of seeing, playing, or owning :)

I have a lacquer problem on my resonant hoop. Its just a little messed up on a part, I just put it on the bottom so you cant see it. Everything Pearl has been great for me, except my Eliminator pedal. It sucked, but hopefully they will get the parts I asked for quick.

Here it is, guys (the eliminator pedal is still broken, the drive shaft is merely resting on the pedal)

Good choice... Had mine for about 5 weeks. I love 'em. No problems with mine, everything was perfect and they sound absolutely great!

JMaxey79, you're doing the right thing by returning and waiting even if it's the HARDER thing to do. The first Dusk Blue pack had some minor finish flaws in the bass drum that were buggin me. Now talk about "pain in the [email protected]@", because it came as a pack I had to repack and return the entire 5 piece including the hardware. Added a couple of toms and one of the special order ones had some flaws (minor) as well. Sent it back, got the new flawless one. It's a pain, but if YOU'RE paying for them then it's whatever makes YOU happy.

The Sessions ARE worth the wait.

Thanks DMAN, Im still waiting, But Pearl and my dealer have and are really treating me good. Much better than i deserve actually....lol. I believe the drums will be worth the wait. You know, I could have went with any drum company that i wanted, just like every other drummer on this forum, but i chose pearl. Pearl drums have always delivered what i needed. You shouldn't have that many problems with their finishes. We sell a lot of the sessions, and rarely get calls like this thread is talking about.

Every once in awhile, you get that bad container batch, which affects numerous people during a small time frame.

I play the session as well, and still have never encountered a problem.

[email protected] totally agree with you about the Pearl SRX Drums. I think they are awsome drums. I think i just caught some of a bad batch, like you were saying. I apoligize to everybody if i sounded like i was bashing Pearl, I wasnt....I love pearl drums....that why I bought them, and thats why ill buy more. In large factories i believe it is impossible to make and send out a perfect product 100% of the time. Little mistakes are bound to happen.....thats life tho. If i came across as bashing i want to clear that up, I wasnt bashing, i was pouting, im doing with out drums right now...I just wanna play like everybody else on here. No harm in that right?
