I am very curious as to whether I can benefit from a gating system. Have any of you had any experience with the Remo or other types of gating?

Thanks;)

I personally manage to fix any excess overtone issue with Moongel. But Evans has a new type of velcro system that is cheap and looks great. For the most part, i leave my toms open.

Any tuning suggestions for my 10,12and14" toms? Slip. you know the sound I am going for and I believe we have the same type of heads: Remo Clear Emporer batters and Clear Ambassador reso's.

Then you dont want ANY gating or muffling. WIDE OPEN with correct tuning is all i use. However, what type and of shells do you use?, Maple or Birch and how thick (mm or Keller Plies)? and do you have die cast or flanged hoops?

Right now I am using an Export ('01 I think) and I guess it's either Poplar or Mahogany. I don't really know how thick.
