I was thinking of starting a thread the same as this myself. I'm saving up for something like the following Istanbul Agops-
20" Vezir Ride M 18" Trad Crash T 17" Trad Crash T 17" Trad Crash T 16" Trad Crash T 16" Trad CHina w/3 rivets grouped 18" Trad Chinaw/6 rivets even spread 10" Trad Splash 12" Trad Splash 13" Trad Hats mt/mh 14" Trad Hats (closed?) m/m I might add a second ride as I'm mucking around rather successfully with open handed playing at the moment, and would change the 14" closed hats to be used on a remote stand with mt/mh weights instead of m/m. And then a set of cymbals for small combo 22" Vezir Jazz Ride 20" Light Jazz Ride 18" Thin Crash 14" Jazz Hats 20" China w/6 rivets evenly spread Anyways, that's my goal ... lets hope this thread continues. I wish the sultan cymbals weren't so trashy, because IMO they are the most baddass looking cymbals on the market.

Alchemy Cymbals:Theyre all handmade so every cymbal sounds different....I can only tell you about the crash and the splash....Crash(Rock) is Really high-pitched with a big explosion, the sweet and Medium crashes really cut through the music and they are all really bright...As for the splash(Rock 10"),,,it's my favourite cymbal on the set!!It'S really bright, with full sound that cut's through the music...
And as for dawael,No Istanbul's are cheap,in Turkey they are cheap as hell...ex:Alchemy Professional Crash 17":86$ My setup at the moment: 20" Traditional Ride 14" Traditional Hat 16"Traditional Crash 10" Alchemy Pro Rock Splash 17"Alchemy Pro Rock Crash and I will be getting a 18" Alchemy China in about a week and here are some pic's of the Sultan Series: Splash: ![]() Hi-Hat: ![]() Ride: ![]() Crash: I couldn't find any chinas so..... |

How do Istanbuls compare to mainstream cymbals, like A Customs or HH? I was looking into getting some A customs, but am definitely all for saving some cash and supporting the smaller companies if the product performs better.
