Question about setup

hey guys im looking into getting a smaller kick Ive decided to go with an 18x16 but im not sure if my floor tom (16x16) would interfere with the kick it being smaller then the 22x18 I have now. Would the tom affect the kick or would that depend on my tuning?
I would greatly aprecciate any help

Youi can get them as small as 18x14

Just go with a 16x20...smaller..punchy...easier to transport...more like a bassdrum, less like a floor tom.
