Hahaha I have an 18x16 on my Visions already! This kit is going to be smaller, sleeker, and faster than my rock monster.

And thanks for the picture comment. The colors are off (a lot), but I think the clarity is awesome for a phone mounted camera.

I played a well tuned (Protone) VSX at GC for a while a few years back and it sounded really good. I wasn't impressed enough to take out my walet because my EXR's were only a year old; so I didn't mess with the tuning. I came home wanting birch; but eventually getting Maple; and words can't express how happy I am with the MCX. I don't have a cell phone so I never take pics with it. I've seen your kit live and the picts are really close!

I noticed the bass drum hoops, it looks like a wrap...was I wrong in thinking vintage wine was a laquer finish?

It's a lacquer. MCX drums don't have completely lacquered hoops anymore. I actually like the look better personally

I dont think it looks bad, I just prefer them completely covered. Can you order them completly laquered?....Im assuming not.

They're a joy to own and play. The bass drum is the highlight for sure, super deep and full-bodied which is perfect for the kinds of music I play. The toms are crystal clear, no muddiness at all, even in the 16".

I'm finding myself wanting people to leave me alone on the weekends so I can spend more time playing my new drums
