Default Lyra Snare Drum

I got this in a drum shop a little while ago. I replaced the throwoff, but still have it, and never drilled any new holes. I also put new hoops on it. The company is called Lyra, and it says made in Japan, but other than that There is nothing else on the drum, not even a serial number. The thing sounds killer when its tuned up. My band loves it, and I get compliments on it all the time.
sorry about the size of the pics

It looks to me to be a Slingerland rip off, can you provide a picture of the inside (bearing edges so I can see what it is made of)

Welcome to the Forum!

That’s a 1960’s Stencil brand made by Pearl (with Slingerland knock off lugs). The shell is likely 5/16 inch thick 6 ply Luan. The wrap is called “Sunset” and is a bit uncommon. The badge has been turned 90 degrees counter clockwise.

Check out the Pearl history page,

http://www.pearldrum.com/03_nuupdts/...s/history.html

You can download a couple of 60’s catalogs there, I bet you’ll see the throw you replaced.

Thats good to know.
I have a pic of inside the shell. I would have taken the head off, but it's in the studio right now, and I dont want to worry about getting the sound back. It is six ply, and it has reinforcement rings. Does anybody have any idea how much this might go for? I also checked the old catalogues, and I did find the throwoff. I want to try to find one in working order, because to have all the original hardware would be awesome.

use paint to resize your images. there are plenty of threads covering this. they should be at most 800 pixels on the biggest side

I have one. PM me what you'd pay for it.
Hell, I have a whole snare if you want it. IMO it's a POS. But whatever floats your boat...
