I have black nickel on a Tama Limited Edition Ebony/Bubinga snare. I looks good but the finish is comming off where I hit rimshots. Tama must spray the black coatting on.

Tama uses that (almost powder coat) epoxy style coating. Not as tough as pearls. I have never had an issue with pearls. Everyone else, I have. Black chrome the most.

These look like Daunks MW. I have not seen him around for some time now... These are listed on german ebay. Near his locaiton. Did he sell? Love the satin...

Woa! That has to be Danuk's kit. Sweetest finish ever.
If he is just selling those three drums, maybe he is ordering a different shell config and replacing them.
Or maybe, just maybe...Hell froze over.

They are tempting to just have to put on the shelf like a work of art.
If they were 4 ply it would be something to consider. Another down side, I don't think you can get satin hardware anymore. So how do you order more pieces?
