when did they stop making vintage wine for mcx? Must not have been that long ago since that kick has the new masters badge on it. The other question is why would you quit making such an awesome color for the mcx?

TheAnt, its funny you should post that pic. My kit was actually part of that one! I started pricing shell packs back in December, and was leaning heavily toward a Transparent Cherry Red Saturn. Something came up and I had to wait, but my local dealer knew what I wanted. When the Winter NAMM demo kit came up on his radar, he told the rep yes he would sell it and immediately called me when it came in. He had the 10, 12, 14, 16, 22x18, and the snare. Needless to say, I loaded it up. It was spotless and had only one flaw - one of the hoops on the 10 was out of round (replacement- $20 on ebay). If he had acquired the other two toms and kick, I'd probably have taken them too. I lucked into this, and it would make you sick to know what I paid. But, I was sworn to secrecy, and my life threatened...

I don't think they stopped vintage wine in the MCX. It was a new color for 2009.

My favorites...
1. Diamond Glitter
2. Black Sparkle fade
3. Vintage Wine
4. Red Glass

You are right, but wonder why it's not listed as an offered finish on the Pearl website in the MCX section?????

Extremely biased towards red glass. (see sig) If I were to get another MCX, I would either go with Diamond Glitter or Wine.

I really like the Red Glass a lot... if I had a choice in which color my kit came in, I woulda got that one, it looks beautiful. I do like Pewter Glass quite a bit, though... and Bronze Glass as well. I like most of the glass finishes...

Pewter Glass is pretty sexy, though.

I would make the same choices... Probably Red Wine first though. I have a thing for Red.

If I had to choose, I would opt for either the Chestnut fade or black/silver..
I think Pearl needs to revamp their MCX color choices pretty soon.
