Default New Yamaha Stage Custom Bop Kit

I recently picked up this little Yamaha Stage Custom birch bop kit in Raven Black. The sizes are:

    18" x 15" bass
    14" x 13" floor tom
    12" x 8" tom

I am also using a 13" x 6" Mapex Black Panther maple/cherry snare in a similar black lacquer finish.

It is a fun little kit, and it sounds and looks great (IMHO). Thanks for checking it out.

Raven Black is a great finish! How does the kick sound?

The kick sounds fantastic, especially with the new heads I put on it (Aquarian Impact II, and Regulator). It is not as loud as my 22", but I mic it up.

I've often wondered about the Aquarian Impact kick heads.....how would you compare it to a SuperKick II?

I believe that they are essentially the same head with just a bigger muffling ring on the impact heads. They are both great drum heads.

I also meant to post that the swapping of the bass drum heads and the adding of a Gibraltar drum riser have really made the bass drum sound much warmer, and powerful at the same time.

I recently found a brand new 10" x 8" tom that matches perfectly. So I added a new double tom mount to the kit, and now have a 5 piece kit that I love.

Great little kit. FWIW. Those toms sound really nice with modern vintage heads. The snare too.
