Is transparent black just black? Like Pearl's piano black?

Also, I'd throw a rug under that baby.

They're not bad drums. How'd you compare them to your New Classic? I used to have a NC, but it was a while ago, so i can't really remember the sound to compare them, haha.

Nope, not at all. It looks green close up actually, but not through the camera. Can also look grey.

The whole point of this kit is to be a decent sounding, relatively nice looking set of drums that i don't baby. I can chuck them about and get scrapes and not care. Then later in life I can get another 'precious' kit. So yeah, screw a rug!

Cheers brooooo! Blends in just fine. It's cleaner sounding, but is nice to have that sonic option.

Please grow up. They're just drums. Certainly excellent value for money drums too, which is why I chose them.

I think the Saturns I've had were much better sounding, better built drums. I had two kits, a 2x 20x18, 8x7, 10x8, 14x12F, 16x14F monster in Transparent Cherry Red and a smaller 20x16, 10x8 and 14x12 Mango Burst kit that I put die-cast hoops on. The finishes and bearing edges on both kits were flawless and they had a massive tuning range and sweet-spot.

I ended up getting the New Classics because I wanted a smaller bass drum and I couldn't get one made in the Mango Burst finish. They're nice drums, but the finish has some weird patches and the tuning range and sweet-spot is much smaller.

Wow! Very interesting. I found the tuning range on my NCs alright. The build quality is certainly excellent. I'm going to stain the shell interiors too. I have to say that I love mango burst! Almost all of the saturn finishes are very good looking. I do love the thin shells. They'd be super lightweight kits, but then the hardware is excessively bulky and thus it weighs quite a lot.
