    Default Clubbin' it.

After selling six rides, four crashes, my New Classic, two pairs of hi-hats and some hardware, I have a rather reduced collection. However, I now have a versatile and high-end set of gear with no surplus, so all is good. I'm very very happy with my purchases to replace the sold gear, which should not surprise you if you take a look at this gorgeous work of art:

10x7, 12x8 14x13, 16x15, 20x15 Yamaha Club Custom drums in Swirl Black. The finish is phenomenal. When you run your fingers over it, you can feel the white ridges of paint. They're really nice and light too, very different from the New Classics.

13x5 Guru Zebrano Stave Snare (I think it matches the Yammy really nicely, with it's stripes as a contrast in a different direction)
(also have a Premier 2000 that will be an aux snare when I get my other snare stand back)

    Zildjian K 14" hats
    Sabian Vault Artisan 18" crash
    Dream Energy 22" ride
Sabian HHX Legacy Ozone 20" ride
Sabian Vault Artisan 22" Medium ride
    Meinl Byzance Traditional 8" splash
    Sabian HHX Evolution 17"crash
Sabian HHX 10" splash (not mounted)

Yamaha 700/800 series hardware, eliminator pedal, D1000spn shock absorber throne and Gibraltar lightning rod hat stand (which has an adjustable rod height; really quite useful!)

I've got a Pearl jungle conversion kit for the 16" and am going to get some wood hoops too (I know I'll then need an optimount not ISS), so I can use it as a small kick, until I find a used 18", (big if here really). I've always had a soft spot for Yamaha drums and am so glad I got some before these original models become super rare!
The cliche is very true for these drums too photos do them no justice. It's okay in pictures, but in person it's spectacular.

Roland Td-12 with Td-30 snare pad and ride, as the stock ones are pathetically small. I've had neighbour issues again, and this allows me to practice so much more. Yay!

I thought those tube lugs were running off at some angle at first. It was just the grain not being vertical that threw me for a loop.

    Great kit and fantastic cymbals!

Waaaaaaaaa, you sold your beautiful New Classic kit...
But you did the right thing, when I see your new gear. This Yamaha Club Custom is incredible!!! Perfect sizes and the right choice regarding the finish!
Would give you REP if I could

I know, and it was hard... ..but worth it. I wasn't sure how much of a difference there would be in sound, but these are incredible drums. the best I've ever heard.

Horizontal stripes make your drums look fat.
