Default Problem with pearl vision bass drum spur, please help!

This morning i was trying to set my drum set, and when was the turn for the bass drum, when i tried to tight the wing nut of the left bass drum spurs, this piece never go tight, and i dont know why, i tried with the right bass drum spurs nut and this go tight like every time, so i need to know what can i do, if i need to replace the wing nut(where can i get one) or if i need to change or upgrade both bass drum spurs...

It seems to me you have a stripped out bass drum spur an if the hole the tightening screw goes into is stripped you have to replace the entire spur or if you know a metal worker get them to re-thread the screw hole. But I reccomend you upgrade your spurs to SP300/2 there like $120 usd but well worth it.

    Good luck with your problem

I see you're from Mexico. I don't know about the availability of Pearl parts down there. Your wing bolt is stripped. You also want to check the nut that the wing bolt screws into. It probably needs to be replaced as well. I haven't had my spurs apart in a while, but I'm sure you can get to it. If the parts are not easily available, any hardware store could help you out. The wing on the bolt would not match, but should function just fine and you would at least have a functioning spur while you order the parts. Why don't you post this in "first aid," Maybe someone from Pearl can help you out.

Actually I discover that the problem is the nut that the bolt screws into... Is not the wing bolt :-(

I'm sure the nut is stripped, but from your picture, so is the wing bolt.

It needs a new spur regardless. Next time remember to keep those threads lubed and don't ever overtighten them! They are chinese metal, which is undeniably not as good quality as Pearl's Taiwan-made hardware. You gotsta be careful with them.

I just saw this thread so forgive the late reply. If the threads are not badly stripped and you know a mechanic or machinist (or a tinkerer) with metric taps and dies, you can clean up the threads on the bolt and also run a tap through the nut. It may clean up although sounds like the female threads (the nut) may be toast. If so, you may be able to have someone insert a Helicoil thread insert in the spur. These are used commonly for spark plug holes, cylinder heads, etc. so they are strong. Even if the wing bolt does not clean up, all you need is a replacement for it.
