Besides looking great, these sounded phenomenal outside. They really opened up and projected better than I expected, even with old worn out heads.

Looks great in the sun. I also rock the 3 leg hi-hat with a double, Nice.
Your Kit is dying for a rug though

Looks great Genius Switch. I love my VBX, they're fantastic drums.
comfy looking setup other than the china. Looks fun to play. LOVE the splash above the ride.
I am also stuck with a three leg stand when I use my double kick pedal.
I'm using my Christmas avatar until they are the correct size.

Thanks guys. I had the kit out only for a short time. It was around high noon, so the finish only lit up on the bass drum. I would have loved to get some more shots with the sun at a lower angle.
I admit I could really benefit from a few more cymbal stands, but I can get by with all the adapters and boom arms I already have.
As far as the 3 leg hi-hat stand, I've been considering drilling the rivets and removing the third leg. Just never got around to it. Also looking at getting a better hi-hat stand too. But I can get by for now.
Most importantly I got a chance to hear what these drums can do in a wide open environment. I didn't adjust the tuning at all. It sounded like a completely different kit. Just goes to show how much effect the room has on the sound of your drums. But also the drums felt different. I guess it's due to less amount of sympathetic resonance. There were no walls to reflect the sound. No carpet to absorb the sound. Based on this, I see no reason what so ever to replace these with a more expensive kit.
In a word: fantastic!
This finish looks so nice with chrome hardware. I feel like black hardware muddies it up too much.
Good call on the Chrome, and nice kit!
Sweeeet! I need to pull my kit outside and take some shots.
