Read it and weep boys. Really thought this couldn't be true when i spotted a guy with this tom on his kit and he said he may sell it in future. About one year later i got a p.m from the guy and secured this little beauty for £70.00 quid.
It arrived today with the dreaded i.s.s mount and modern session lugs. I removed it from it's packaging with great trepidation as i feared it was a 8x8 BLX with a Dlx badge stuck on but one look at the bearing edge dispelled my fears...I've spent today scouring for old lugs and restored the little beauty to original. Sorry you cant see the lovely swirly grain but that's the ****** joy of htc for ya.
This drum isn't meant to exist..................i'm glad, sooo glad that it does.

Isn't it just. Dunno why they dont make them anymore......Pearl should do a retro thing and re-release em eh? offer it as an option on masterworks or something.

Yeah not many huh? Thing is according to my Pearl '87 pricelist when the DLx's were only available in Natural Birch, Walnut and Sequoia Red the 8" wasnt even an option. Maybe mine's a one off? What a cool thought huh?
