What is most Versatile Cymbal

My main ride at the moment is a 21" Paiste Twenty. It has everything I want from a ride cymbal. I used a 20" Twenty but wanted a bit more so I got the 21" on eBay and haven't stopped using it since. Its got everything a good ride should have,great bell,just the right amount of wash,nice defined ping and a beautiful dark trashy crash!

For the most part, it is. Mine is, and yet there isn't a sacrifice in definition. I love mine! Most versatile ride I've ever owned (my HH RDBR & the 22" Artisan Medium Ride are the most versatile rides I've ever played).

Paiste 24" Giant beat, this can do anything you want a cymbal to do, and yes, it is a 24" !!

as is obvious from the wide variety of responses, there is no such beast as the most versatile cymbal...if there were, it would be owned by most every drummer ..... there are only different cymbals with different sounds in different sizes by different makers ....heard and appreciated by different ears on people with vastly different tastes....

Yes & no. Some people love versatility. For others, versatility is in how you use. For example, use Maark likes super-pingy rides. Are they versatile to some people? Nope. For him, however, that's his preference.

I like the Armand Zildjian 20 inch ride for a versatility. Great ping. Great wash. Just an amazing cymbal

Sabian AA 18" El Sabor: great crash, good ride, best bell. I use mine with hats and one crash. Peace, goodwill, and blues.

I am considering buying a crashable Sabian ride such as the Memphis Ride or the Crossover Ride. My El Sabor is great, but it is quite bright. A darker crash-ride would be a nice alternative. Peace, goodwill, and blues.
