they sound great! i love the 12" tom... perfect sound. the kick was really nice too - nice and round. and the snare was surprising - just a coated ambassador on top and it sounded really tight and sensitive without ANY nasty overtones. i wonder if it's the thick bearing edge/re-ring that accounts for that... the high end of the snare was "rolled off" - pretty dark and not at all harsh sounding. i liked it!

I'm a huge sucker for a vintage Slingy, and even more so for Champagne Sparkle. Great work again, Chief.

Does the kick totally match the toms or is it a more modern champagne wrap? It looks a little more pink than the others, but that could just be the difference of the angle and lighting in the pics.

Yeah it's definitely the lighting. I opened up the blinds of a window that's to the left of the kit, and it must have been reflected differently in the sparkles. All the shells were stamped Aug 1966 on the inside and the wrap is original/matching.

This photo is the best representation of the actual colour of the wrap...
