Thumbs up My New Dennis Chambers Signature Snare - with Soundclips!

Introducing my new Pearl Dennis Chambers Signature Series Snare! First of all, I can say is... WOW! This snare blew me away right out of the box. I'll give a little review on it, as well as some nice outdoor shots, and some sound clips of the snare itself and with my kit.

I've been on the hunt for a nice maple snare for a while now. Yes, I love my rebuilt Ludwig Acrolite to death and will never part with it, but I wanted a maple snare as well for different applications. I love how they give off the nice warm and smooth tones, and work well in almost any situation. It came down to a few snares, but believe me I think I hit the nail on the head. The drum has an endless tuning range with all of the different settings that both of the SR-020 strainers give you. Whether tuned high or low, there is tons of body along with power and crack at the same time. Very precise and responsive snare from inside out. It gives you that extra added pop as well, which is especially noticeable when the snares are on a looser setting. And not to mention, the finish is just drop dead gorgeous as well. Not just white, but the microflakes in the finish really set it off, along with the look of the lugs and strainers as well.

I'm still playing with the tuning, but I have it close to where I'd like it. I'm deciding whether or not to to try a coated emperor on top, as there is a coated ambassador on it right now. So as promised, here are some pics and sound clips!

Specs: Pearl Dennis Chambers Signature Series Snare, 14x6.5, 4-ply maple with 4-ply reinforcement rings top and bottom, MasterCast hoops, #136 Opal White finish

Snare Alone (3 snare settings - tight, loose, off)

Snare w/ Kit (2nd setting from above - loose)

    Enjoy!

PS. Can you list out what heads you are using on your toms, how tuned, and what set up you used to record. Sounds really good.
