    Default Favourite Canadian Drummers

I saw a post on here a couple of days ago about everyone's favourite american drummers so i thought i'd bring canada into the mix.

so in no particular order these are three of my favourites from canada (not all of them, just a few)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUtRh7dyrdQ - jeff burrows
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7teAJ6W3hQA - this one has Rich Beddoe playing, but the drummer i actually prefer their original drummer from the album who's name is Rob Gommerman. I just couldn't find any videos of him playing the songs himself
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sa0C5Uxpd3c - yup... I'm Canadian... I love Neil Peart's drumming. I grew up on his music and he's been a huge inspiration for me, and a lot of the reason I'm learning to drum.

So guys and gals lets here your faves

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtKgyJiLOa4 ...I'm very priveleged to have had studied under the great Mark Kelso AKA Mortal Kombat. Mark can play so many styles with authenticity, he slays Cuban stuff particularly, and he has some crazy abillities with metric modulation and polyrhythms. Most of all, he grooves.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w68zuSEdzdM ...Larnell Lewis's insane drumming skills are compounded by the fact that he is a killer bassist and keyboardist as well. This clip is the tip of the iceberg. His drum solos are usually rollercoaster rides of comedy, awe inspiring talent and creativity. He always does some cool thing that you've never heard or seen before.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-n8X674-Kdo ...Fabio Ragnelli is playing Giant Steps in 5, and completely disregarding the barline here. Crazy modern jazz player.

Big throwdown to Hey Ocean's Adam Cormier. I can't find any good videos ha ha.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QASgLF9Zr7o... Elizabeth Shepherd Trio's Colin Kingsmore. Check out his performance of Peter Erskine's Sweet Soul on Youtube as well - it's super slow, super groovy and super tasty. He is the first jazz drummer I've seen who really slays.

The only one I can think of is Moe Carlson from Protest the Hero.

Randy Cooke... he used to tear up Toronto clubs from 1985 and beyond (yes i'm that old) and was in about 10 bands simultaneously, and always played ripping stuff and had a different outfit for every act, from spandex heavy metal to cowboy indie rock to glam funk

i think he lives in the States now, but he was a main guy for Rik Emmit, and played with Lee Aaron, Alta Moda(!), Saddletramps (Sarah Harmers earliest band), Daddys Of Eden, and about five others, but those were the ones i followed

a true chameleon... not a lot of his live stuff from that era is on youtube, which is a shame, but he's probably on a million records

    google!

I really like local guys Gary Grace and Phil Robertson.
