Here is my first drum cover of the year. It's Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are". It's not a super new song, but I enjoyed it, therefore I'd like to share it with you guys.
Thanks for watching.![]()

I don't know the song, but your playing seemed pretty good. I didn't like the ride/hi-hat on the chorus, might be how it is on the recording, just seemed kind of empty to me. I did not like how your snare sounded, like you need to tighten the strainer, but if you like it, more power to ya'.Same for the floor tom, sounded really box-like.
I totally understand what you mean.
The chorus, on the actual song, is pretty much empty itself. I wanted to be a little creative with the chorus, but I didn't really want to ruin the song, therefore I played what I did on the ride/hi-hat on the chorus.
I should've tuned my snare tighter, which I also agree with. However, when I was wearing those headphones, it sounded different. My snare is now tightened.
Then the floor tom, I just found out one screws (whatever you call it), on the rim was completely loose, which caused the floor tom to sound like crap. But I fixed it.
So yes, it wasn't much of a recording problem, but moreso of me just not tuning my snare and floor tom.
Thank you for your comment, though. I appreciate the thoughts. I would suggest to listen to the actual song by itself, though, because the drumming on the verses may be slightly different, but are quiet in the recording (therefore I was decided to play my own beat), and the chorus is just really empty. It's only a 3 1/2 minute song but that is how the song is. I tried to be a little bit more creative, though.
anyway, here's a link (below) to the song if you have the time to listen to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5lO4hEAJHU
Thank you very much. Appreciate your comment.![]()

^ You're welcome. I thought your drumming was good! I think any drummer wants a little artistic licenseI listened to the original, and yep. I think they over-dubbed some stuff, sounded like hi hats and toms at the same time.

I give you credit for that/. I'm sure there's a few exceptions, but I do not like it when a drummer over-plays.
