I just bought a 11" K Custom Hybrid Splash to replace my recently cracked 9" Oriental Trash Splash... Really excited for it!

Next up, a mini-china of some sort. Have a 16" and 18" already, would love something like 12" or 14" at biggest.

You could go 12" or 14" Oriental Trash, or 14" K Mini China, imo. All good choices.
Want to buy: 14"x14" (legs), 16" x 16" (legs), and/or 16"x18" (legs) Starclassic B/B FT in Lava Glass Glitter. Also looking for 20"x22" (no mount) Starclassic B/B Kick in Lava Glass Glitter. I'm open to other finishes.

The one I just got has very little wash. It's ALL ping...and it's raw sounding. The bell is loud and cutting too.

^ Which is why I want one so! I first played one when I worked for a drum shop in London and was blown away by it - but I was 18 and it was expensive! I currently have an 80's Z Light Power Ride, which has lots of ping, a little more wash/build up that I'd like, and a not very defined/clear bell. But I do like it's pitch and tone. I would love to get a K Custom tho!

Looks like i'm joining the Zildjian family soon. I've set my eyes on a Zildjian Avedis cymbal set. I've been without a set of cymbals for 2 years or so, because i didn't play that much anymore. Anyway, now it starts to tingle again and it's time to buy a new set. I've seen a set on Thomann.de, consisting of:

    14" A New Beat Hi-Hats
    16" A Medium-Thin Crash
    18" A Medium-Thin Crash
    21" A Sweet Ride

They sound very nice and affordable too: €645 for the set, including a free cymbal bag.

After getting this, I'm going to save up for an 18" Oriental Crash of Doom (that thing sounds amazing) and then it's time for some effects (10" splash and a 20" china, but i haven't decided which ones yet. Probably K. Oh, and a 12" Oriental China Trash must be part of it too).

That A set is ace. I've got 14" New Beats, 17" Medium and 17" Medium-Thin and an 18" Medium, and I just need a 16" in either Medium or Med-Thin to round it off.

Ahw crap, i just read Zildjian discontinued the 18" Oriental Crash of Doom. The 20" sounds awesome too, but i was planning to use the 18" as a main crash and i'm afraid the 20" will be too overpowering for being a main crash.

By the way, does anyone know if Gavin is using the 18 or 20" version in this vid?

I'm pretty sure it's an 18". The lens on the overhead camera makes it appear larger, but if you look at the ground level shots you can see it's definitely not that big.

It's hard to see, but i guess it's indeed an 18". I did a quick Google and came up with this (he answered it himself):

Did you get an 20'' Oriental Crash of Doom and cut it down to 18''...
Because on Zildjian site there's no 18'' Crash of Doom

Yes I think they use to make the 18" available. Maybe not any more.

Well, still not a conclusive answer if it's an 18 or 20". Depending on the view, it looks like a 20". Compared to the ride, it seems the same size and it looks bigger then the 18" K crash. On the other side, the left china is a 16" Oriental China Trash and compared to that it doesn't look like a 20". Argh!

w00t! I just found an 18" Oriental Crash of Doom on a webshop for 192!!! I have just e-mailed them with the question if they still have it (keep your fingers crossed!!) and if it's a new or used cymbal. For that price (new it costs around 320) i think it's used, but it looks new:

    So, keep your fingers crossed!
