    Default Ludwig Blue Marble kit

    ***UPDATED PICTURES ON PAGE 3******

I picked up this beautiful Ludwig Blue Marble kit recently. It is from 1994. It still had the original heads on it.

These were hand painted kits and only made for a couple of years due to the time and labor involved to make the kits. It really is a work of art.

I have only seen pictures of 2 other kits like this one. They made them in just a few colors. The Blue Marble like mine was featured on the 1994 Ludwig catalog.

    Sizes:
    12, 13, 16, 22; 6.5 x 14 Supraphonic

It came with the splash and arm, as well as a Ludwig Speed King Pedal.

This is an absolutely gorgeous finish in person.

There was an Ivory Marble finish; Black Marble which looks like gray in the online catalog I saw, and the Blue Marble. I have only seen catalog pics of the Ivory and Black Marble finishes.

Here's a link to the 1994 catalog which shows the other finishes. The Blue Marble was on the cover.

    Congrats CLP!

Your new Ludwig Blue Marble kit looks fantastic.
Such a cool pattern, and hand-painted as well. Very unique.
I always love seeing kits in blue, it's my favorite color.

That is one seriously beautiful kit. It's a shame they don't make wraps like that.

    ^That's not a wrap.

    Very nice, and rare too!

Very unique. Although those mounts are my least favorite Ludwig put out.

Man, those things are wild. I could really see them as being more of a product of the 80's. Really cool.

    Thanks everyone!

The paint finish is really rare. I would love to know how many of these were made.
