    Default Masterworks DAXDAD Equivalent?

I'm not in the market for a Masterworks yet, but I hope to be within the next 2 years or so. But, I do have a question:

I'm a really huge fan of the sound of Yamaha's DAXDAD Sub "Bass" drum and was wondering if Pearl would be able to make something like it?

    The size is: 12"W x 22"D

    Thanks.

It's important to play the spaces. Silence can speak so loudly.

I can tell you this much. Yes, you can get a 12x22 woofer if that is what you want to call it. It would look like the DW version of a woofer. However, they will charge you the same price as an 18x22 kick drum. As far as mounting it, I am not sure what you would do. You could order a 12x22 without spurs and try and mount it like dw does.

Didnt Al P have one custom made to go along with his Masters kit that he sold?

The product he's speaking of is basically a 22" deep, 12" "tom" to be played with a pedal... I do believe. Russ Miller's been using them recently. As far as that goes, check with your local Pearl dealer/rep or send a pm to Al Percival.

Here's an alternative for a cool sub-bass sound.

I have one which I use for some acoustic gigs and it sounds phenomenal!
