Pearl Maple - Made in USA

What can you tell me about these drums?

It has a pewter/gun metal wrap, Superhoops and the badge is just like the 80's Japanese version but it doesn't have the "All Maple Shell" badge.

Since I'm looking for some of these to refinish, I was bidding on a 12" and 14" tom on da'bay - I won the 12", but was sniped on the 14".

If anyone has a 14" or 15" wrapped (any) maple tom, US or Japanese, and wants to get rid of it, PM me.

Nice drums, they're Keller shells with Pearl hardware.

They were made in the early 80's while the Taiwan (PMI) was retooling their shop. As mpthomson pointed out they were indeed Keller shell made in the USA.

How do these compare to the Japanese maple drums?

Ohhhhhh yes. I started to remove the wrap from the 12" today and the maple underneath is very nice.

that is the same Hardware AND finish as my Professional DX from the 80s, nice to see something like that still alive!
I still think this wrap looks amazing!
