Thumbs up Pearl P900 kick pedal..

I was looking for a cheap no frills single kick pedal to use on my second kit, and found this one at Guitar Center for $59.99. It's nothing fancy, but for the price it's a hell of a deal. Pretty much exactly what I was after.

ya, a lot of cheaper pedals are fine. In fact, they're a WAY better value than any of the more expensive ones. All you lose is the ability to customize the settings. In my experience, I can play on ANY pedal just fine, as long as the tension spring isn't set for Hurcules or the Hulk.

I love my P-900 pedal, infact when I went to get a double pedal, I just went with the P-902. Was on sale at GC for $175, and the double version feels just like the single version to me. Sure I'd like a demon drive or something similar, but I gotta wait a while before I can justify droppin that much cash on a pedal.

I have a DW 9002 double pedal on my big kit... but I couldn't justify the expense of buying a 9000 series single pedal for my jazz kit. I don't do anything real complicated with that kit, so I just needed something real basic. I really love the P900, it's everything I need and cheap.

BTW.. Sam Ash has the P902 for $169.99 everyday.

I use a P-900 on my jazz kit as well. They're great, lightweight, no frills pedals that hold up. My only complaint is that the jaws don't quite close enough to fit tightly on my kick drum riser. A simple fix was to take a small piece of rubber and glue it on to the riser to make it fit. Now it works perfectly.

We've got the same exact jazz kit (Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz), and I imagine we both have the same kick drum riser - but I don't have this problem with mine. Although, mine already has a piece of rubber glued to it... I have the small chrome-ish one, not the black adjustable Gibraltar riser that I see on a lot of CC jazz kits.

Mine is the Gibraltar riser so that might be the problem...

ive owned one for several years of near daily use and was always more than happy with it.

i recently picked up a single pearl eliminator on ebay, so the old one is relegated to home use. have to say that all the tweaks on the eliminator are fun, but the bottom line is the old one worked just fine!

If Pearls 900 pedals are built to the same standards as their 900 series cymbal stands, then it's a quality product. I own about six of the BC-900 stands.

I have a couple of the 900 series stands, and I'd say it is of the same quality.

I just got the 902 double pedal today and I have got to say that I am impressed. This pedal will do well on my ekit. I wanted something a little lighter than my Gibraltar Intruders and these fit the bill.
The slave is not quite as smooth as my Eliminator but I can get these up to speed with little problem.
I do love single chain pedals.
