He did two songs with them on SNL. Here's a video for one. The other song they did is Honeybee. Nothing monumental, but I thought it was cool to watch.

FINALLY! I've been waiting for this video to be reposted forever. Hopefully it wont get booted like all of the other SNL vids.
Thank you.
I remember right after Nirvana dissolved, Dave was mentioning going to drum for Tom Petty. It was a little sad to think he might go on to just be a drummer for hire. I'm glad he took a chance and make that first Foo Fighters record.
Awesome, I've been wanting to see that for a long time.
For all the youngins, before everyone made their drumsets look Aaron Gillespie and Travis Barker, everyone made their drumsets look like Dave Grohl. Huge drums way up in front of you and cymbals way up in the air with the hi-hats up to your eyes.
At least that part hasn't changed, right?Originally Posted by Jarick
That was a great video, Dave's one of my drum heroes, and who doesn't love Tom Petty? I'd love to see the other one some time.
Yeah, man - but I think Dave owed something to Dale Crover too.Originally Posted by Jarick

Absolutely.. actually, I read an interview somewhere in which he talked a lot about Dale and how much of an inspiration he was.Originally Posted by Jimmers
damn he goes far back when playing the hi hat haha
Brant Bjork was one of the originators of crash riding huge cymbals, no one mentions him. He was doing all that stuff long before The Underoath guy, or Barker. I'm sure Grohl is even influenced in some way by Brant's trademark drumming.
Dale Crover is still earlier than both of them.
When did Sons of Kyuss come out - '91? Something like that. Grohl and Crover were both well established by then.
