Drum Microphone Placement, your pictures + sounds!
I thought this may be a very helpful/interesting thread.
Got a few sessions coming up in the big studio. Will take my SLR and get some cracking photos instead of crappy iPhone camera images. But for now, let's see what you got!

So unfortunately I forgot about this and grabbed a camera quick on day 2 of my session (which has been guitars/vox), just slammed a few mics up quick for some photos on placement. Hope it helps. Love to see everyone elses photos! Hopefully will remember for the next session later on this week and will get some proper images.

(note the 421 had moved when i took these next photos)

Is this Illidan?
Love the home-made "sub kick"... did you use an NS10 speaker too? ...that's about all those monitors are good for....
-
yeah man, NS10's in our studio were donated by STING haha, had a new set of drivers a while back so one got turned into a subkick. magnetise it to a weight or mic stand, off you go!

When I finish tracking I'll pull down my sound baffles and take some pictures... hopefully I'll be done this week.

Sweet, can't wait. I wanna post some more 'interesting' pictures instead of just normal close miking techniques. Will have to wait and see till something comes along.
