Default Best deep snare for that deep, ultra-fat sound?

I've got a short list of candidates but I don't want to miss any. Does anyone have candidates for that deep, ultra-fat (think Genesis MAMA Tour) booming snare sound?

I tried the 8x14 TAMA brass snare today -- and it's great. But, again, I don't want to miss any candidates. Would maple be a better choice? I just want to spend this money once.

Flash. That 8x14 Tama Brass would be a good choice for thclassic Fat sound.
I just bought this Artwood custom 6.5x14. Really nice and fat sounding if you ask me.

I would have to say Sonor Signature or Phonic 14"x8" Beech Heavy-shelled snare. That's pure fatness. Signatures cost a lot, but if you can find a Phonic in the same size, it will have the same shell, just without the fancy Bubinga or Ebony (there's painted Signatures too though) veneer.

^ Russ, I used to own that very same snare back in the mid 80's.

Nothing beats Ultra fat like a Hand Hammered Ludwig Bronze snare 14x6.5.... Throw on a die-cast on top and an emperor and you'll die!

For a wall of sound, I use my 1986 MX steel shelled ten inch steel juggernaught. This snare should be locked up for disturbing the peace!!!
