Does anyone know of a good free software to write drum parts, and if possible have them played back to you?

www.tabledit.com
works fine for me
There's always at least one guy out there better than you...
His name is Thomas Lang.
I have a program called TabTrax which is made for drums. You can write tabs and it will play them back at any tempo, you can print them. You can paste in tabs from mxtabs.net and similar sites and it will turn them into real tabs and play it back. I think the site is www.2112design.com

Finale Notepad maybe?
if you have the money - or work with others things than just drumset (like if you're a music educator or something) Finale 2006 is great for it...you don't have to deal with tab...you can use regular notation. but.....it's very pricey.
so i take it none of these allow you to drag mp3s into them and t will write out tabs?
And which one of these is the best?

No program is going to come even remotely close to being able to do that, man.
I use Tabit. Tablature program for drums, guitars, bass....... tons of instruments. Easy to use, and you can play the music back.
