Default John Tempesta snare, just ordered!

Well, I just decided to go for my new snare addition, the Tama JT147 14x7" John Tempesta sig. snare, 2mm Brass with brushed nickle finish/hw. Anyone have this snare on the forum, or will I be the first? I got to try it out locally, fell in love, and just ordered it (from a cheaper online store), along with a Pearl H-2000 Eliminator hi-hat stand. Anyway, any opinions on this snare?

Wow, that almost looks as good as the StarClassic G Brass they are making again...except that big *** JT on it. I bet it sounds killer though.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to this, definately. The badge is removable though, so I might do that. But luckily I really like the drummer whose name is on it, so it isn't that big of a deal for me, it would definately be worse if I didn't have any real conncection with the guy, and had to see his initials on the snare, so strikingly, all the time... But we'll see

550 euro (from www.musicstorekoeln.de in Germany). It might be slightly more adding norwegian toll customs, but it seems like almost hit or miss if you need to pay or not. 5 of my recent international orders went by without any extra fees, 3 of them I needed to pay... So I expect at least to pay a bit more, but I might get lucky once again

Yeah, i just played one at my drum shop. I'm impressed. It would basically suit any music style, IMO. I played a BUNCH of snares, and this one is just great. Looks incredible, weighs 124512lbs. Superb fit and finish. The JT badge is sick, too. A good splash of color.

    anyone else play one yet??

very nice drum. definitely one I could buy. at last a drummer I like has his signature snare drum... he's not the fastest or more technical, but I've always been a white zombie fan. was the first metal band I listened to, back in the days
