    back in the day of GFR (not what he used in more modern days) what kit, cymbals and any other peice of equipment did don brewer use? thanks

    He played Ludwig drums (that red sparkle kit was sexy!) with a 5"x14" Supra and Zildjian A's. As far as sizes go, I believe they were 14"x22" bass, 9"x13" tom, 2-16"x16" floor toms. For the cymbals, 14" hats, 18" and 20" crashes, and 20" or 22" ride, probably medium/medium thin weight, but that's just a guess. Of course, you can't forget his cowbell.

    When I saw "the Don Brewer Show" a few summers ago, I was surprised to see the old guy still can kick it. Almost beat for beat what he played 30 years ago. They were much better with Mark Farner, but still not too bad. As for his drums? They sound the same as they ever did. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the exact same setup he had back in the 70's.
