How does the mapex janus rank against the 'big 3' pedals (pearl elim, tama iron cobra and DW9000)

because i have found on ebay and its quite a bit cheaper than the other 3 does anyone have one?

NO! I've used them. Trouble with the heel plate hinge pin (it slips out). Foot board height not independantly adjustable from beater angle... theres more, but that should be enough right there.

tried the janus double pedal, they have good features, but as with the flying dragon , to many features destroys the feel and durability of a pedal, janus have a foot stopper in the middle of thier footboard, this is great for many heel up drummers but for heel down its just a annoying lump in the board
    Kit Count-
    Hohner Stage- Nice first kit
Session Pro- Not as good as hohner, bad sounding.
Yamaha Stage Custom- An amazing kit for price.
Mapex Saturn- Nice kit, great sound.
Sonor Delight- Great Looks, nice hardware.

The more features the better. The foot bump in the foot board is removeable with a flat plate so its like any other reg pedal on the market. The pedal comes apart easily for cleaning, its solid and hits as hard or harder and feels smoother, more solid than the tanky DW 5K. The build quality isn't good enough for top of the line (made in china) and they blew it with the non-adjustable foot board angle indeprndant of beater angle.

They're not selling well, so you may be able to get one cheap. The heel plate hinge can be replaced with a 12-24 tension rod cut to size terminated with a nut. The actual pin is 6 mm and doesn't extend far enough beyond the hole to put some type of c clip or peen it over, on top of that anyway, its hardened steel.
