    I posted this on the Everything Zildjian thread, but want to put this out here for those that don't frequent that thread.

    I was going some boxes I stored in my parent’s basement and I found this 1980 Zildjian Cymbals Set-Up Guide with A. Zildjian set-ups from most of their endorsers of that era. Here are some set ups from the guide:

    I had one for like a year, a 20". I liked it fine. Wasn't exactly the sound I was looking for, but a good cymbal nonetheless.

    Wow...that's a gorgeous cymbal. I suppose all things considered, that's not a bad price either. That's a very rare cymbal to begin with, nevermind actually owned, played and signed by him.

    Believe it or not, that 24" Platinum Ping Ride that Steve Smith used on the Evolution - through Escape tour 1981 is on eBay
    The Platinum's came out around 1985, long after the Escape tour.
    He may have used that Ride at some point, but the 24" Ping Ride he played for most of his time with Journey was a regular finished Ride he had owned for years.
