I'm looking at bags(due to lack of money and upcoming shows) for my drums and I have settled on midwest club bags. My problem being, will I have to allow for extra room because of the optimounts? I don't know how far it sticks out.

Any info would be great.:)

Well I'm not sure this will help but I've got Hardcases on all my drums and my 10" and 12" have optimounts on them( I have ordered optimounts for my floor toms and they will arrive soon )
and both drums fit in their cases, But just barely.

I have Levy bags for my Exports (modified with Optimounts) and I had to purchase the bags one size up.

I have a Beato ProII Club drum bag set (separate bag for the bass and gear, one large "cylidrical" bag for the snare & toms), they're "soft" cases (bags), not "hard", and my toms w/ Optimounts attached fit in them without a problem.

someone posted awhile back that they THINK Levy makes midwest club bags.... and somebody here said they bought levy bags one size up. That might be an indicator.

the acctually opti-mount part, the part attached on the drum, doesn't stick out very far, but the TOm bracked does, so i would get the normal sized bags, and if youhave trouble fittin them, unscrew the tom bracked whenever you need to move them (its just 3 screws) and they will fit that way

All Cases are not the same.

I'd go an Inch higher just for good measure.

In this situation too big is better than too small.

The Optimounts (with the tom bracket attached) stick out about 3" from the shell, which is just slightly more than the I.S.S. mounts do. (For reference, Pearl lugs stick out 1" from the shell.)
I have H+B Tuxedo bags which I carry drums with I.S.S. mounts in. The bags are "normal sized" and the drums/mounts fit fine. I would think that there would be no problem with Optimounts either. Just be sure to ask when ordering, since every manufacturer is different.

Hope this helps.

I think you are planning on getting a 5 piece bag set, but you also have another drum bag that needs to be gotten because you have a 6 piece set. I say, order that extra bag first, in regular size, see how it fits, if it doesnt then return it, and get larger sizes.

Thanks guys. I did ask midwest and they said it will fit fine. I would test it out first, but I have to go with their word on this one and I have some shows coming up.:D

Thanks for all the help.:)
