I highly doubt any big figure pearl endorsers/endorsees play sessions, they'd just have a masters, or even a masterworks. However, there might be lower level endorsers who play on local scenes and aren't internationally famous that might use sessions. But as far as big time pros, highly unlikely.

Well,
I've got a flyer about pearl session series and it is said that Chad smith is very happy with his Srx kit....
Even though I also doubt he plays live with a Srx kit.

Chad Smith actually plays live with an export (oddly enough)unless its a very important tour. i got the pearl endorsement video last year and he says that during part of it. it also says hes used SRX but courantly does play masterworks (anyone would've guessed that).

Will Kennedy played SRX's with the Yellowjackets, now Masters.
Smitty Smith said he sometimes records with his SRX's.
Also Luther Rix, an independent who can be found on the Pearl Artist Roster under the "Show" listing.
Probably a few more, they're great drums.

Why would he? I know he plays an export in some of the videos, but thats for visual purposes.

Geronimo,
A lot of our Masters Series guys play
the Sessions Series for their in-town
gigs once they're off the road. Some
include:
Marvin Smitty Smith - The Tonight Show
Will Kennedy - The Kennedy Krew
Steve Gillis - Filter
David Osmond - The Osmond Brothers
And some of the guys who play them on
the road include:
Darrin Pfeiffer - Goldfinger
Alan Evans - Soulive
Tracy Broussard - Blake Shelton
Charlie Grover - Seether
As you can see, the Sessions Series
covers a lot of musical bases.
Thanks,

So, if you aren't "endorsed", you must not be a "professional" - is that it?

oh ..... a rhetorical question.

chad smith plays a masters set live with a custom wrap job. he did play on an export in at least one video though.

you're a 'professional' if you're make your daily wage from drumming. so if a punk drummer pays his rent + his bread and water from drumming, then technically he's a professional.

My friend got an export, and he says, his dad too, that it was the kit that denis chambers used in a Clinic in my state
it was like, boosted to $3000!!
and its used, i just thought it was funny, but the set kicks ***, i use it at school

if i had a Masters kit and a Session or Export kit, id definetly gig with the lower class one, just so i wouldnt worry as much about damaging my Masters. unless of course other people handle my drums and they pay for whatever happens to it!:D :D :D

Oh, I see - daily wage.
Um, so like what if you're salaried, or paid a flat rate? Would you still be "professional'?
What if you own your home, or you don't eat bread?
I'm confused...

Everybody eats bread, don't be silly!
I think he means basically if you're making your living off of drumming, you're a "professional" because that's what your "profession" is in that case.

Oh, okay - thanks!!!
Let's make sure I have this right:
If you do nothing other than drumming, but the income isn't enough to really "make a living", then you're not a professional.
If you eat bread, you're a professional.
Cool. I'm goin' to the grocery store...

i just realized something:
I'M THE PROFESSIONAL!
lol, i dont know where that name came from, but it is one of my many (and when i say many, i mean MANY, names).

i'm sorry that at this point you're still confused. if you make a living drumming, then you're a professional. make sure you finish school, friend.

A lot of Pearl players actually use MW live....crazy. Tico Torres is one of them. I mean, I would never take my MW ( if I had one ) out of my house/studio. Plus, with all the micing they use live it doesn't even matter.
The question now: can I get colored hardware with an SRX kit?
i got the pearl endorsement video last year
how did you get it??

Other things to consider in the SRX vs Masters price difference. SRX is limited in color and other options such as lugs, tom-mount-only in bass drums, superhoops instead of mastercast. These limitations allow Pearl to control manufacturing costs thus allowing Pearl to sell the SRX line at a much lower price point.
SRX are professional drums!!

Holy cow you wouldnt take a Masterworks out and play it??????? Then all I have to say to you is dont buy one!! What a waste! I bought one and will take it out every chance I get! Its the tool of my trade, why would i leave it at home????
Really you think Britney has no talent????? Damn there are millions that think your wrong!! You dont have to like her but damn she can dance and does have a great voice! She has talent weather you want to admit it or not!
videogamerx2........or any of you for that matter tell me that if Britney Spears people came to you and said we would like you to play drums on Britneys next tour, you would turn it down?

I thought the SMX series, you can put your toms on the symbal stands instead of in the bass drum?
Man, I want the Master Series for those Mastercast Hoops , well I guess Sessions are a good start for touring local gigs until you get paid a lot, then when you get famous, you can go out and buy the master series.
