I know nothing about photoshop, but I do know this. It would make your picture look much more realistic if the reflection of the lugs on the bass drum were black as well. I'm guessing they were origionally chrome?:D

I'm just givin ya a hard time. It does't look too bad, especially for your first time.:)

hey pearldrummer8: THis is how i do it

select all the chrome hardware, then take the brush, set it on black, normal brush setting, with opacity about 47%, then select a large spray paint-type brush, and go over the selected hardware 2-3 times, untill it looks real

fixxxer: how do i select the chrome?

skiezws: thanks. it was chrome before the black.

eek! fixxer! don't quit your day job :) instead of using opacity, try changing the layer mode to 'overlay' use the quick mask to draw in the chrome sections or whatever sections you want to color in.

ON the Tools bar, look at the to couple of the tool, like the magic wand, and there is a Tool, Paint Brush Selection, it lets you select by painting, it makes it easyer to select what you want

For colored hardware, i put the brush on the brightest shade of the color, and then i Set the brush to "Darken" on the brush set, and i just free hand it, its not the easyest, but it works for me

Carl, is it possible to do a fade like in the picture of the drumset at the beginning of the thread, BUT have the fade go from bottom to top? IE around the floor area the drum is blue, but at the top where the tom mount would be, if it had one, is white?

Carl Peterson
02-19-2003, 09:35 AM
Yeah..no problem with that..:D

ya. if it's on your harddrive, you have to "attatch" it, and if it's already hosted somewhere on the internet, you can use vBcode to post it...
